Week 1 was not that difficult. And it was also the time when I was most motivated.
So I ran more carefully in the first week.
I tried to run as slow as possible and aimed at not getting hurt.
I focused on just one "running every day." If you get hurt, you can't run every day no matter how short it is.
# The most important thing in the first week.
The most important thing in the first week of running is that you have to continue running somehow.
As the saying goes, three days of determination, it is important how many runs you have performed in the first week.
In fact, "daily running" is also a running method that can damage the body depending on the time or shape of running.
But I recommend running as daily as possible in the first week to form a running habit, even if you take these risks.
# Don't think.
In my experience, the biggest enemy in forming these new habits is
It's a useless idea. "Let's take a rest since it's raining". "It's too hot (or cold)". "Let's digest before we go out".
These useless thoughts hold us back.
And these thoughts are tail-to-tail and eventually begin to break our will.
The tip I recommend is how to raise your body right away and leave the moment you feel these thoughts.
These thoughts are close to negative thoughts, making us lazy as soon as thoughts progress even a little bit in our heads.
# Become a night person.
So I don't recommend doing something in the morning when forming a new habit.
With the recent popularity of the book Miracle Morning, people seem to have begun to yearn for what they do in the morning (to be exact, dawn).
But a person with a normal will like us shouldn't do what we think we can achieve in the morning.
There is a 99% chance that you will not be able to achieve your goals and sleep while self-rationalizing with useless thoughts under the blanket.
But dinner is different, do something on your way home from work. At least than the time when the brain is not awake early in the morning.
It is highly likely that the brain of the evening, which is somewhat exhausted from daily work, can make rational and rational judgments.
# Motivation through "Seal Cost".
As I said before, when you start something new, it's the time when you're most motivated,
It has not yet become a habit, so it is also a time when it can only be a short-lived resolution.
First, buy nice shoes, and you will spend the day thinking about wearing running shoes.
Motivation through consumption has the disadvantage that the effect does not last long.
If so, increase the "sink cost" as much as you desperately want to achieve your goal.
As these sunk costs increase, most people tend to be obsessed with buried objects.
In the economic concept, this 'sink cost' also acts as a factor that obscures managers' normal judgment.
However, the physical/health benefits of running cannot be converted into money in many cases,
If you're weak-willed, increase the "shed cost" to create a situation where you can't help but run.
So I bought running shoes first to give my mind to run naturally.
The first time I started running was in winter, so I bought a beanie.
I'm planning to purchase an additional pair of running shoes in the future.
If I have the stamina to run 10km relatively easily, I will go on a running trip to Jeju Island.
